The headland is topped by massive hexagonal basalt columns, with boulders scattered down its slopes and along the shoreline. The park's own safety advice warns that rockfalls pose serious risks in severe weather, and near the headland a grinder finds rock before it finds the bottom of a stump.
Tchoobey Reserve on the banks of Tallebudgera Creek has a boardwalk through mangrove and casuarina forest. Mangroves are protected marine plants in Queensland, which applies on private land as much as public.
A seawall that in normal conditions lies buried under the dunes and vegetation protects the foreshore and parklands here against severe storm and erosion events, so the ground near it is not what it looks like from the surface.

Do the reserves behind us affect what I can do with my own trees?
They can. The City says Burleigh Ridge and the Burleigh Green Space, the conservation reserves running west along Tallebudgera Creek, support a significant koala population, so a block backing onto them is checked against the mapping first.
Can the big pines along the foreshore be trimmed?
Not privately. The Norfolk pines in Justins Park were planted in 1934 by brothers Charles and AE Justins and sit on the city's local heritage register for their part in the character of the foreshore. Your own trees are a separate job and quoted normally.
